Recently, this nurse advocated strongly to admit a patient after surgery instead of discharging home as planned. This nurse's strong clinical skills helped this nurse to recognize a potentially dangerous heart rhythm. By advocating to admit the patient, this nurse prevented a possible serious postoperative complication. This nurse had to advocate again when the patient was not placed on the telemetry floor.
