Crystal is one of those students that stays quiet, and then she shares something like this. During her last clinical at lunch, she was able to help an employee that works in the cafeteria who was choking. Crystal attempted to do the Heimlich on her, but her abdomen was too big for her to get her arms around so she used one of the chairs instead. Fortunately, she was able to dislodge what she was choking on and was okay. After that experience (which she never thought she'd have to do while not working), it really got her thinking about how grateful she is to have been trained and known what to do. She felt so much more confident than when she started working as a nurse. All of her hard work, studying, and practicing paid off in this situation.
