Crystal has taken on the focus of making our unit better by including all ideas and creating groups in which to share those ideas, making them come to life. Crystal is well respected and liked by all and is very skilled in all aspects of nursing, which makes her amazing in my eyes. She takes care of her two children during most days, works 12-hour night shifts running to Rapid Responses, CODES, Stroke alerts, plus any other emergency situations that happen on our unit with no Resource Nurse to assist and very little rest and a lot of energy.

Crystal is an SSC who has shown time and time again that the employees under her supervision ACTUALLY mean something to her. When sitting down for check ins, she starts off by asking how we are as people - "how is your life?" It’s a phenomenal trait of hers, which is saying something. She’s incredibly intelligent and diligent and stands as an advocate for all around her - employees, patients, and families. I could literally not think of anyone else as deserving as Crystal. She makes a lot of our nurses want to continue coming to work AND growing as nurses.
