I came into the hospital with a STEMI SCAD heart attack. Less than one hour on the floor after I came from the cath lab, Crystal had to spring into action almost immediately and call a rapid response. The crushing feeling in my chest went from bad to worse and I was scared to death - AGAIN! Crystal remained calm and kept me focused that everything will be OK. I was having the ST elevations again and it was Crystal's quick action that got everything under control.
It didn't stop there. Crystal continued to check on me daily even when she wasn't "my nurse." She kept me positive, giving me (and family) encouragement and much-needed hugs. I am 45 and this was my second STEMI. It has been emotional for my husband and four children also. She showed equal compassion for my family as well.
She is by far one of the BEST nurses I have ever met as a patient and in my 26 years of working in health care myself. I know God sent me an angel on Earth that day. It was Crystal. Thank you!
