Crystal Rexroat demonstrates every one of the ICARE principles daily during her time on the unit. Her integrity is outstanding, and she ensures that all staff and veterans are cared for to the highest level available. She has built caring and trust-centered relationships with everyone she meets. Crystal's commitment to her patients and unit is high quality. She shows her deep love of the VA through her caring ways, advocacy, respect, and excellence. She routinely helps every member of her team complete tasks throughout the shift and has helped the next shift with tasks. She handed off an unstable patient to me with Q' fingerstick/full code, who was not doing well. She stayed and helped stabilize the patient, talked with MDs, and gave a well-rounded view of the care the patient had gotten overnight. Crystal has stayed over to complete patient care tasks that other team members were unable to get to during their shifts. Crystal uplifts every team member and supports us all. She is an amazing nurse and an asset to the PCU. She is an influencer and a positive difference-maker.
