Two and one-half years ago my dad came to live with us. We thought we had a handle on what Dad would need for his care. At this time his diagnosis was Parkinson's.
We were in way over our heads. We found out about Home Health Care and soon help arrived.
We had a variety of nurses, personal care workers, physical and occupational therapy personnel coming to teach us. After we had calmed down and started to build our own confidence, Crystal Schulz came into our lives.
Without Crystal's care, compassion, and ability to advocate for her patients, Dad would not still be living with us. Crystal gave us the tools, resources, and support we needed to carry on our job.
I wish I would have noticed this award earlier in our relationship with Crystal. She has gone above and beyond for us so many times over the past 29 months.
Most recently, Dad had bacterial pneumonia and was hospitalized. Coming home meant Home Care services again. At the initial meeting, I requested Crystal as our nurse. We were told that she did not service our area any longer and it would be someone else. We were disappointed but we understood.
Somehow, Crystal found out we requested her. She said she was in Rice Lake two days a week and would be HAPPY to add Dad to her caseload. She said that if someone requests her she will be there for them. So, she is back with us again!
She is my rock. She makes me feel like carrying on when I want to give in. She gives me hope.

Thank you, Crystal, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
