On Crystal's day off, she came up to work to take one of our elderly, depressed patients on an outing around the hospital. This patient was smiling broadly for perhaps the first time during her admission. All of us at the hospital are working hard to help this patient recover and be okay, but I believe that Crystal's above and beyond act of caring will be the most therapeutic act for this patient during her stay.
