This student is an incredible human with an amazing life story that she is able to use to help clients. I have had the honor to watch her grow as a person and as a student nurse over the past few years, and can say that she has lit up every room she has entered in that time. During clinical at Amber Manor, this student encountered a resident who was having suicidal thoughts and did not hesitate to take that resident under her wing. She sat with this resident, talking to him, reasoning with him, and being the ray of sunshine he needed in that moment. This student continued to check on the resident frequently throughout her clinical day and was able to leave knowing that he was no longer a threat to himself. I look forward to continuing to watch this student grow as a nurse and continue to spread her light and joy wherever she goes.
