The following patient was in the ICU at DePaul Hospital suffering cardiac arrest. He returned a year later to express his gratitude. The patient said,
"Thanks" seems like such a small word for all you've done! It's been one year and I have noticed small things now that have been taken for granted (in the past). My wife and children thank you. I have been blessed and can pray that those who participated in my blessing, enjoy the same blessings.

I want to take a few minutes of time to tell you about our wonderful experience at DePaul. My husband had a brain aneurysm rupture and we spent 24 days in your ICU. I want to give a special shout out to Curt who cared for my husband the most. Even when he didn't have him or was off work and came in for training, he would stop by and check on my husband. He was so knowledgeable about brain injury. He led me to people to talk to who could answer my questions. When I broke down crying because I was confused about some decisions that I made or just needed a friendly face to talk to, Curt was there.
