The CVICU Team

My husband had a quadruple bypass and AVR. It was a scary time for both of us. Every single staff person made it so much easier for us to deal with all of the post-op issues. Heart-wise he did great but complications with seizures and not being able to swallow were extremely disappointing. Because of my husband's complications, we had been in CVICU for almost 2 weeks. Staying so long on that floor we made personal and professional connections not only with my husband's nurse of the day but any nursing team member who came into his room. The nurses are so in sync with each other and they work as a very cohesive team. They anticipate each other's needs and always help when called upon. They all had rah-rah attitudes and encouraging words towards getting my husband discharged. Being an "old" retired nurse from many years ago, technology has changed, and their technical and professional knowledge is second to none. My husband was extremely lucky to be a patient in CVICU. CVICU is lucky to have Debbie C as its leader. We truly hope this request recognizes THE BEST OF THE BEST.
