Cynthia was working in the capacity of SRN and noticed the patient getting ready for discharge was dressed in his personal clothing which was extremely soiled and foul-smelling. The patient was not actually discharged however, discharge planning was in process.
Cynthia completed her shift, gave report to the oncoming nurse on the patients that were assigned to her personally (the patient with the soiled smelly clothing was not assigned to her) gave report to the oncoming SRN, clocked out, took the patient's dirty clothes home, laundered them, and returned to the hospital that very night after 11 PM with the laundered clothing. The patient was to be discharged the following day.
Cynthia makes compassionate connections with her patients always and consistently goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. For this reason, she is a true DAISY Nurse.
