Cindy consistently demonstrates a compassionate demeanor for all her patients, but there is one example of her kindness and compassion that goes above and beyond. It was near Christmas. We had a very young cancer patient who was given only a few days to live. She had 2 children under the age of 5. With help from other members of the multidisciplinary team, Cindy worked to give this family one last Christmas together. Presents were brought and wrapped for the children. Pictures were taken of them opening their gifts and hopping in the bed with their mom to cuddle. Pictures were sent to the husband for lasting memories. Sadly, the patient passed away days after.
