My daughter has POTS, and she had to have a tonsillectomy. There were complications. After two ER visits with three different people trying to access her port unsuccessfully, Cynthia got it done on the first try. She also went above and beyond. We have been to more hospitals for more different procedures than I care to mention, and she was the first caregiver since my daughter got her port two years ago who treated the procedure like it was an important medical procedure. She did several things to prepare the port and entry before she even tried to access it to protect my daughter and keep her safe from germs, etc. We appreciate the extra care and consideration for my daughter’s health. She made a comment that I was very impressed with. She said she treats every patient like she would if it were her own child. If every caregiver had taken care of my child, we could have avoided many bad, stressful situations. She wrote down her name and department so that the next time we needed her port access, we could request her to be the one who did it. We appreciate her more than we can express her here. She may not get many of these because she works with patients in a smaller capacity than other nurses or caregivers. But she deserves recognition.

Thank you, Cynthia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
