I had to rush my wife, S, to the ER for dehydration and other issues. My wife is a breast cancer and brain damage patient, wheelchair-bound, and is unable to stand or walk. When we arrived to the ER, her blood pressure was dropping rapidly. They rushed her back into the ER and our nurse, Cynthia Chadwick began to start an emergency IV to get her fluids. S’s blood pressure continued to drop and she became unresponsive. Cynthia worked faster to start the IV as S was still in her wheelchair. Nurse Chadwick was able to start the IV and S’s blood pressure started to come up. Nurse Chadwick’s rapid and professional actions saved my wife’s life today. She is not only a nurse but an angel, God bless her and BSW.

From the moment my family member was taken into the emergency room, Cynthia gave 110% the entire time, she worked tirelessly. She was kind, patient, and so very compassionate. Considering it is Christmas and my grandmother will likely not survive due to the severity of her illness, Cynthia made our family feel like this wasn’t just another patient for her, she treated her as if it were her own grandmother. The love and compassion she has for her job radiate through her, she was there to hug my family when we needed it the most. I don’t know anyone more deserving of this award than Cynthia. She is truly an outstanding nurse and an incredible human!
