What I appreciate most about Cynthia is her motivation for clinical excellence.
Cynthia is an ambulatory nurse based at our regional, North Clinic site of care. She supports 7 different service lines and does so with great skill and compassion. Cynthia and I have only worked together for the past 5 months and in that time she has made such an impression on me that I immediately thought of her as a DAISY Nurse.

What I appreciate most about Cynthia is her motivation for clinical excellence. In the ambulatory setting, there are many nuances between service lines and between providers within the same department. Cynthia, without prompting, has taken the time to learn all of those nuances which empowers her to deliver safe, accurate, and quality care. She has made herself into a local clinical expert and a go-to resource for the other nurses on our team. A great example of her self-made expertise is the initiative she showed when she took up the mantle of learning about the complex nuances of genetic testing that came with supporting our neurodevelopmental clinic. She is now our go-to nurse for staff or patients who have genetic testing questions.

As a patient, Cynthia is the nurse you want when needing to understand your diagnosis, therapy plan, and next steps for care. As a peer, Cynthia is the nursing partner you want for dependability, support, and knowledge sharing. Finally, as a manager, Cynthia is the nurse I appreciate for her intrinsic motivation, commitment to excellence, and critical thinking ability. It really is my honor to nominate Cynthia for a DAISY Award and to express how appreciated and valued she is.
