Cindy is an excellent, dedicated nurse. She is a great problem solver and communicator. She figures out the cause of problems and comes up with solutions. She is a patient, kind teacher and willingly shares her vast knowledge and expertise in geriatrics and nursing in general. Cindy could give classes on customer service. I've heard her deal with challenging patients numerous times. She always manages to calm them down with her kindness and empathy, then helps them out herself or gets them to someone who can assist them. Cindy is also an advocate for the geriatric population, especially the vulnerable. I once heard her reminding a nurse from an outside facility that it was his duty to intervene in an abuse situation and that he was a mandated reporter as a witness to the abuse. It is truly a privilege to work with Cindy and to learn from her.
Cindy has developed into an outstanding leader in the Extended Care/Senior Care Area. Her professionalism shines through all encounters with patients, co-workers and community contacts. She applies and shares her knowledge in working with senior and long term care patients and the staff working in these areas. I have known Cindy for many years and have enjoyed working directly with her these last few years.
