March 2024 Honoree
Cynthia Croston, BSN, RN
Cynthia always goes above and beyond. Tonight we had a 4-year-old patient with a facial laceration. Cynthia stayed 1 hour past the end of her shift to assist the patient and family. Given the child's age, I was planning to perform the procedure with sedation to repair her laceration. Cynthia took it upon herself to stay after the shift, apply a topical anesthetic, and comfort the child to sleep for approximately 45 minutes. She then laid down in bed with the patient and continued comforting the child and kept her sleeping for 20 minutes while I performed my laceration repair.
Thank you, Cynthia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
