I cannot begin to tell you what a phenomenal nurse Cynthia is. My son came into the ICU close to death. He's got cerebral palsy, is nonverbal, has a trach, and an ostomy bag, and had some kind of horrible infection that he was losing the battle to. It was believed C would not survive the night. Cynthia was his nurse, and she protected and took care of him like he was her own son. She understood that my husband and I could not leave him, and proceeded to get special permission for one of us to stay the night. She has been such an advocate for our son and our whole family; she is the consummate professional, she is empathetic, and kind beyond measure. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that in her care, he will be loved and protected. Her own personal experience with her brother has given her an inside perspective on what our lives are like, and she always knows exactly what is needed...for C, and our whole family. She is the absolute epitome of a fabulous nurse. I am beyond grateful to have my son under her care. I wish I could take her home with us!!! She is the whole package and needs to be recognized for her talent and abilities. She goes above and beyond every single minute she is working. There isn't a word special or big enough to describe her as a nurse, and my gratitude for her care is immeasurable. Thank you, Cynthia, from my whole heart and soul, for your care.
