Cynthia was asked by a dying patient's nurse for a rose to put at his bedside. Cynthia quickly called her husband who is a landscaper and he stopped his work, purchased a beautiful peach colored rose and delivered it to the floor. Cynthia and the nurse took it to the patient who cried when he saw it. They taped the rose to his bed rail so that he would be able to see it. Cynthia received the DAISY Award for ensuring that this one patient received his dying wish.
