I have witnessed Cindy's care and compassion for countless patients in the last three years. I will give you an example of one of these interactions. We admitted a male patient who had been living independently and was now very confused. In the course of twenty-four hours, he had a total of three code whites. Somehow, Cindy with her compassion, kindness, and excellent nursing skills, managed to calm him down enough that a CT scan of his head and an echo could get completed. Eventually, also a stress test was done. His daughter was a nurse and Cindy did an outstanding job communicating with a very distraught family member.
The patient was eventually able to be safely discharged. This is just one incident, but I can honestly say I witness something every time I work with Cindy that exemplifies our core values. She has been on the Franklin rescue squad for eleven years. She teaches CPR for Atlantic and has maintained her certification in care of the dementia patients and recently brought supplies for our unit to have a stocked dementia cart. Cindy is a member of our aide/nurse committee to raise the bar on how we work together. Meanwhile, Cindy is working on her bachelor's degree and had maintained a 4.0 average. I could not work with a better coworker. Cindy is a wonderful nurse and an exceptional person.
