Listen to the news and hear all about the issues and problems in hospitals today, lack of diligence on the part of staff that can cause so many problems. And then there are nurses like Cynthia. My wife is having her second knee replacement at BHIP. We came in on Saturday for blood typing and screening. The profile was not accurate. My wife has antibodies in her blood that did not show up. If she were to receive the transfusion, the blood on supply would have caused a very serious problem. We mentioned to Cynthia that another hospital had detected the antibodies back in 2021. Cynthia contacted the other facilities' blood bank and found we were correct. Her diligence may have averted a potentially life-threatening situation if she had not listened to us and acted upon it.
