Daisy reappeared after her shift to come to talk to us, to check on us, to comfort us, and to offer us reassurance. An Angel indeed, she asked if she could pray with us on our Mother’s behalf.
It has been said that, “There are angels all around us!” Our crossing paths with Daisy Kimani RN, validates that angels in our life do truly exist. Our Mother was admitted to your facility on a Friday evening with a major cardiac episode in need of emergency care. We were unfamiliar with the facility and trying to navigate our way through the hallways to locate the Cath Lab. Being 9:30 at night, scant employees were available to ask for assistance. While navigating the hallways frantically trying to find our Mother, we heard a sweet, faint voice in the distance. We searched and walked in various directions trying to cross paths with the voice that seemed to be getting audibly louder in hopes she could direct our path to our Mother. Finally, we found Daisy, who accompanied us through the hallways to the Cath Lab. She comforted us, explained the process, and asked if there is anything else we needed before she left.

On Saturday, my siblings and I waited in the lobby the entire day to receive any inkling of news regarding the hopeful transfer of our Mother to your partner facility in the downtown Houston area. We were informed they were waiting on an available bed so that she could receive further surgical intervention for her cardiac diagnosis. It seemed the news kept changing, and the transfer was not going to materialize as we were earlier informed. We were frustrated and tearful. Daisy reappeared after her shift to come to talk to us, to check on us, to comfort us, and to offer us reassurance. An Angel indeed, she asked if she could pray with us on our Mother’s behalf. On Sunday morning with still no transfer taking place in the night, Daisy came once again to find us in the lobby waiting area where we had been trying to sleep huddled on chairs. She talked to us and comforted us, smiled and told stories, and offered us reassurance once again that everything was going to be okay. Before she turned to leave, she smiled her beautiful smile and asked, “Is there anything else you need?” We all replied, "More people like you in this world!".

Daisy epitomizes the “Angels on Earth” statement. She exemplifies a truly caring and compassionate healthcare provider, exceeding her duties as a SWAT NURSE! She is a beacon of light when the path seems dim.
