1st Nomination
Daisy ran to assist an elderly man who had fallen at our MEND clinical site in Pacoima. The man slipped and fell outside due to the rain, and Daisy ran and applied pressure to his bleeding head injury. She immediately requested that someone call 911 because, after assessing the man, she was notified that he was on blood thinners.

Daisy stayed with the elderly man until the medics arrived and provided a report. An incident report was also filed by staff at the MEND, and we all congratulated her on a job well done!

Due to her immediate response and knowledge, Daisy was able to help the elderly man and also get him medical help. Had it not been for her intervention, the patient would have bled to death.

2nd Nomination
Daisy is so encouraging to all her classmates! Last term, in public health, at the MEND community center, some of the participants ran to tell us that someone had slipped and hurt themselves. Daisy did not hesitate as she ran to help them. She made sure to stay with them until the ambulance arrived. This is just one example of how caring Daisy is to those around her.

Thank you, Daisy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
