I want to thank you for taking the time to read about a very special nurse I have had the pleasure to get to know. I was in Chesapeake Regional as a visitor. I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. As I was in the room visiting my friend, I remember being touched by Dale's care. I felt comfortable to open up and started sharing my story about cancer. Dale was and is like an earth angel. She listened and shared with me uplifting stories and was so comforting to me. Her compassion was huge just like her heart.
A couple of months later I started my chemo treatments and ended up being admitted to the hospital. Of course, I asked if Dale was working. She heard I was here and she took time out of her crazy busy day to visit. When she was visiting me, she made me feel as though I was the only patient. After a few more days I was blessed to be her patient. She was wonderful and took the time to explain the unknown to me with such warmth. Going through chemo, it is important to me for one to have a caring heart and hands of healing. I get both from Dale. She has a gift with sharing her compassion. I feel we are all blessed to have Dale in our lives - as patients, co-workers, and visitors. She is a true asset to Chesapeake Regional.
