Dallas Williams, BSN, RN, was presented with a DAISY Award on October 13, 2015 with the co-founders of the DAISY Foundation, Bonnie and Mark Barnes, in attendance! Dallas was nominated by one of her patients who stated:
"Dallas was the nurse that ALWAYS made me smile. She made me feel happy and she was so sweet. Dallas showed me pictures of her pet bunny rabbit. When I came back to CHKD because I got sick, she came to see me and gave me a big hug even though she wasn't my nurse. I miss her. She is always my sunshine, even when I didn't feel good. I hope every kid gets Dallas for their nurse. She makes everyone feel better. She is the BEST!"
...
"Dallas has been an amazing staff member. She started with us as a Nursing Care Partner while attending nursing school. While in that role she was recognized by our Performance Improvement department as a Safety Hero. Her questioning attitude on a laboratory specimen prevented an unnecessary collection of blood. She always has a positive attitude and great smile. Not only do her patients and parents love her, she is very well respected by our unit team."
