Dametra C Lee, BSN, RN

Dametra was helping care for a patient with an ectopic pregnancy. The patient was treated with methotrexate and was identified as a discharge. Although she was the only nurse in triage and busy, she evaluated her patient prior to discharging the patient she became tachycardic and diaphoretic. Dametra notified the provider and PFC immediately. The patient was taken to CT stat where a large hemoperitoneum was noted. The patient required two units of emergency blood release and emergent surgery.

Dametra provides excellent care to all her patients regardless of how busy she is. She is compassionate and actively listens to all her patient’s, provides and other members of the team respect her assessment and immediately respond to her request. Dametra saved this patient’s life!!
