Damian was on the first shift when I was transferred from the surgery recovery room to a standard patient recovery room. He was outstanding in that he was constantly checking up on me to make sure he met all my needs and was always looking to go out of his way to make me feel comfortable.
He checked up on me many times per hour. When his shift was over, he came in to say goodbye but I was busy with the rehab people and I did not have the time to talk to him. When the rehab people were finished, he showed up and said that he felt that he could not go home until he could talk to me to thank me for the pleasure of taking care of me. I was shocked because that is the way that I felt about him. All of the nurses were great but if I had to rate Damian from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, he was a 20.
Damian came in every morning with a smile I was always happy to know he was my nurse for the day. What a difference it makes to a hospital stay to know that you have such a caring and knowledgeable nurse to look after you.
