We are incredibly honored to nominate Daman Macias for the DAISY Award. Damian's dedication to his patients and his remarkable growth as a healthcare professional have made a lasting impact on our family. We first met Damian during a previous admission when he was working as a patient care tech. Even then, his work ethic and exceptional service stood out. He took phenomenal care of our mother and left a lasting impression on all of us. To our absolute delight, when our mother was recently admitted back to the CDU at Methodist Charlton, we crossed paths with Damian once again. Seeing his journey from an excellent tech to an exceptional RN is a testament to his hard work, but what moved us most was that his care values never changed. As our mother's nurse, Damian continued to go above and beyond in every possible way. He brings a profound level of compassion, patience, and clinical excellence to the bedside. He didn't just manage her medical needs; he truly cared for her comfort, dignity, and peace of mind, making a stressful hospital stay so much easier for our entire family. What we appreciated so deeply was his ability to ease the tension in the room. He knew exactly how to make her laugh when we needed it most, bringing joy and relief to a stressful situation. Damian embodies exactly what it means to be an extraordinary nurse. He is a shining asset to Methodist Charlton, and we are profoundly grateful for the compassionate spirit and bright light he brings to the nursing profession. He so deserves this honor!
