His compassionate patient care was not just professional; it was profoundly human, making a meaningful difference during a very vulnerable time for our family.
My father's hospital stay was incredibly challenging, especially given his dementia. After a fall resulted in a fractured clavicle and a bile duct stent, he was, understandably, disoriented and frustrated. His confusion peaked the night before Damon became his nurse, when he managed to wander from his room despite being a significant fall risk.

It was a distressing start to what was already a difficult situation, and then Damon arrived. As our day shift nurse for two days, he transformed my father's experience. He walked into the room with a consistent smile and an unwavering sense of patience. My father, due to his dementia, would frequently ask the same questions, often moments after receiving an answer. Each time, Damon responded with gentle reassurance, never once showing an ounce of frustration. He understood that my father's confusion wasn't a defiance but a symptom, and he adapted his approach beautifully.

What truly struck us was the sense of comfort and familiarity Damon fostered. Despite my father's inability to recall him from the previous shift, it was evident he felt at ease in his presence. This seemingly small detail made a monumental difference in my father's well-being and, ultimately, his recovery. In the disorienting environment of a hospital, Damon created a pocket of calm and understanding for my father. His compassionate patient care was not just professional; it was profoundly human, making a meaningful difference during a very vulnerable time for our family.
