I have been going to the Stigler Choctaw Nation Health Clinic for a number of years. Dan Risenhoover serves as the Nurse Manager for the Stigler Clinic. I have had numerous times where I have required extra special care, and Dan has stepped up and offered his expert assistance. At one time, I was requiring wound care from a spider bite. The Clinic was short-handed so Dan volunteered to treat my wounds. He demonstrates such true compassion and concern for the patients who receive nursing care at the Stigler Clinic. Dan has always shown such professional care with the highest degree of respect and modesty. I have family members, co-workers, and friends who have been served by Dan. He shows heartfelt concern for all the patients without bias. He will go beyond his regular duties to ensure that patients' needs are met.

I am challenged with Type 2 Diabetes. After having been seen at the Clinic by my provider, my blood sugar began to crash. Dan stepped up and began to help stabilize my sugar, making certain that I stayed at the Clinic until I was able to safely drive home. My doctor remarked that Dan had saved my life.
