Expressing myself has never been easy so I hope I can relay how fortunate 5 East is to have a nurse like Dan. He is always giving of his time, treasures and talent. He is always giving up his time to trade his schedule so his co-workers can be with their family on weekends and holidays. Dan may work several Saturdays in a row because of the shift trades he makes. When the unit is short, many times Dan will come in to help. Dan is always sharing his treasures by sending gift baskets to co-workers when they have surgery, donating PTO to co-workers in need and bringing treats to the staff working. He does this without thinking. Many times he will give things to people and sign "from 5 East" when it was really his money that he was giving. Dan's talents that he gives us are his expertise in nursing, his compassion for his patients and co-workers. But the talent Dan shares with us is his humbleness in his giving. He inspires me to try to do more! I know Dan does not do this for a pat on the back but he deserves one.
