Dana Beamesderfer, BSN, RN
My significant other went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a mild stroke. Dana was very attentive to his needs. She did lots to make his journey better in many ways.
After he had another stroke-like episode in the hospital, we were told by the doctor he would probably end up in long-term care and continue to have repeated strokes. A weekend Zoom consultation with a neurology specialist and a subsequent diagnosis by a hospital neurologist both agreed that the correct diagnosis was orthostatic blood pressure, not an additional stroke.
Dana was part of both consultations and alerted the neurology doctors to the staff doctors’ opinion. What a different prognosis. My significant other was ready to give up on life. Without Dana interceding and communication between all parties, our journey might have been very different. This act of competence showed how invested she is in her patients and their futures!
I cannot begin to describe how grateful we are to her. She truly is a credit to her profession.
