Dana had a patient on neutropenic precautions so visitors and overall interaction was limited. Dana formed a genuine relationship with her patient, bringing her puzzle books, magazines and candy to keep her spirits up. The patient was expecting a very serious medical diagnosis and Dana spent extra time talking and crying with her patient. Dana showed empathy and really made me remember why we are all nurses. I can honestly say that she made the patient's stay better and really kept her spirits uplifted.
