October 2025 Honoree
Dana Hatch, BSN
As I write this, my sister is on day 6 here at Methodist Willowbrook, having come into Emergency with a severe UTI sepsis and then assigned to the unit on 7E. She was our day shift nurse for two days and was truly wonderful to work with. I found her to be the epitome of a professional caregiver while engaging K with extreme patience and gentleness, even while K was confused and anxious, and determined not to cooperate. You could tell that all the other nurses and medical staff who came in and out of her room highly respected her, as she led the way through thoughtful and purposeful care for my sister. Whenever I had a concern or had a question about something, she stopped and listened in a manner that made me feel like we were worth her time, even though it was quite evident that the needs on the floor were great, and she stayed busy. I told her I was impressed by the level of care we’d been receiving from everyone, and she told me that was Methodist’s “way” - continuity of great care! And she was a great ambassador for that!
Thank you, Dana, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
