Dana King, RN

When I arrived at the unit to get report from Dana, we were facing a very difficult situation. One of our patients was declining and required an urgent transfer, with many complex issues occurring at once. Dana could have completed report and left at the end of her shift, but instead she stayed. She remained fully present, calm, and compassionate, helping ensure the patient was safely transferred and supported every step of the way.

Dana’s actions spoke volumes about her dedication to her patients and her team. In a stressful and emotional moment, she chose to put patient care first and exemplified what it truly means to be a nurse. I am so grateful to work alongside her and to witness the kindness, professionalism, and selflessness she brings to our unit every day.
