Dana was the nurse for a post-op joint patient. From the point of the recovery room, things did not go as planned. At the start of her assessment, she knew the patient was having severe vascular problems. She called the doctor tirelessly, reaching him to report the results, and closely watched him. When she checked on him again due to pain increase, she knew things had progressed and again, called the surgeon repeatedly, until the surgeon came in, and took the patient to emergency surgery. After reaching the doctor and getting ready for OR, she also thought to call his wife, giving not only the patient emotional support, but also to his wife. Dana performed as an exceptional nurse, not only clinically, but as a compassionate caring person as well.
