February 2021 Honoree
Dana Lewandowski, RN
I’d been in the hospital for 3 days. I had 3 or 4 nurses. All the usual polite, professional, give me my meds and take vitals. But when Dana came in it was like a lightning bolt went off. Asked how I was feeling, was I hungry? (She’d seen I hadn’t eaten in 2 days). Then I had bad news about my Medicaid options. I was a hot mess. She took just a moment to cheer me up, listen to my concerns/fears. A cheeseburger and a smoothie helped the rest of the way. Thank you, Dana. I never got to say it personally.
Thank you, Dana, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
