I was admitted from Healthplex South. She was in the room as soon as the EMS crew arrived with me to the floor. She greeted us with a very caring smile and a welcome. I, too, am a nurse with SSM at another ministry. I was hurting and just not feeling good. It was late, I was tired, and no one likes being a patient, especially a nurse. Her welcoming smile eased my first thoughts and concerns about just being a patient when I'd rather not be a patient. Through the night, she listened and attended to every need. I wanted a shower in the middle of the night, and she helped with towels to keep the floor dry. She checked on me frequently. She truly just cared and was attentive. I don't ask for much, but she was there.

The next day, she was again my nurse. She came in with such a bright smile, and it was good to have her again. Day 2 was postop and she was right on getting me comfortable and just being a kind, truly caring nurse.

I believe she meets the SSM requirements for DAISY. Her qualities as a nurse were true and genuine. I only had her 2 shifts but her work and team work with her tech really shows she is a great asset to this ministry.
