My brother moved to Mobile from Tennessee to live with my husband and me due to his failing health. During the first week, he was hospitalized here and Providence on the 12th floor. Sometimes his health causes him a lot of anxiety, and he can get upset very easily. He becomes very angry. While he was hospitalized, along with his aggression, he was also receiving steroids for his COPD. Both seemed to work together making him become verbally aggressive with most of the nurses. I felt so embarrassed and found myself apologizing to the nurses for his behavior. I know they were trying to overlook and be nice and understanding, but it became harder for them as the week progressed. There was one young, beautiful RN who would come into his room with such an aura of kindness and peace. She seemed to leave such a calming effect on my brother. Her name is Dana Wildman. She had such a happy and caring spirit. She was our ray of sunshine during a very hard and trying week for both my brother and myself. What a blessing she was. My husband and I have both been hospitalized here at Providence, and we would not want to stay anywhere else. We both have only positive experiences here. We love this hospital. My husband is actually hospitalized here as I am writing this letter. He is on the 12th floor, and Dana is his nurse! She is still a ray of sunshine. Such a caring and happy spirit is unforgettable. Her love for her job and people is very commendable, so I just had to share this little story with you.
