Danae Piccoli demonstrates all of the DAISY Award characteristics. As a patient, I experienced first-hand the extraordinary caregiver Danae is. In every interaction I had with her, she demonstrated her dedication and passion to care for her patients by greeting me with compassion and enthusiasm. Since 2008, I have been admitted to many hospitals and have never been under the care of a nurse that cheers you up with their enthusiasm…even when you are in pain and discomfort. Danae is that nurse! Having a person that is not your relative and having the capacity to treat you with compassion and enthusiasm makes a whole world of difference in your recovery. It is not only her exceptional personality but also her dedication as a caregiver. She was always on top of my medications and constantly asked me if there was anything she could do to help ease my pain and discomfort. There is no doubt that Danae Piccoli is always willing to go the extra mile for her patients!
