In December I delivered a beautiful baby girl at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. I am a first-time mother and was anxious about the entire childbirth process. Dani was my night shift nurse twice, as I labored for 31 hours. As a nurse myself, I have high expectations when it comes to patient care. Dani was hands down the most compassionate, patient, and professional, nurse I have ever met. Giving birth naturally was the most difficult thing I have ever accomplished, and I could not have done it without her encouragement and excellent care. She knew I was anxious about the cervical exams and was extremely mindful of that. She was gentle and considerate of my feelings. After the delivery, Dani advocated for me to ensure that I was not sutured without appropriate pain relief because she knew that my epidural wore off. She stood by my side throughout the entire process and kept me focused and strong. We had just met but she treated me as though I was a friend or family member. There are no words that can adequately express my appreciation for her. She serves the nursing community proud.
