I suffered a traumatic injury, falling on ice in my garage, and I broke my hip. I was admitted to BMC and was inpatient for seven nights. Danica Reed's professionalism, caring nature, and sense of humor helped me through a very difficult time. She routinely explained how to move, what to expect, offered assistance, and always with a kind word. One night, I was feeling particularly down. It was late, and Danica came in to check on me. She actually sat down and talked with me for about ten minutes or so, which made me feel like I could get through this, and it just set my mind on a healthier, healing path. So many of the nurses were just wonderful. I did not have one person I interacted with who wasn't truly exceptional. Danica stood out for me primarily because she was clear, matter-of-fact, very supportive, and caring. Nothing was too much, and she understood this was all a process and helped me through my stay.
