First Nomination:

Daniel treated me with dignity. I was so apprehensive about my blood draws and chest pain. When medications were ordered that were different from my home medications, he responded to all of my questions in language I could understand. He listened and really "heard" me, despite a full house on the floor.

Second Nomination:

When I was admitted to St. Rose San Martin, I was in a lot of pain. I had been going through pain and nausea for about two weeks and was very frustrated with my quality of life due to my illness. Little did I know that one individual would help me to address my concerns and inform me of additional ways to deal with my discomfort.

Daniel Dale was assigned as my nurse on the CPCU floor once I was admitted for observation. He took the time to review my orders thoroughly, understand my pain and work consistently to make sure that I had relief from my symptoms. He was friendly and compassionate while also being a professional.

I went through many tests the following day and felt as if my main issues were not being addressed completely. I was still in pain and growing more and more frustrated. It wasn't until that evening that I was able to feel as if my concerns were really listened to and addressed. Daniel took the time to sit down with me and discuss my pain. He made suggestions regarding lifestyle changes to potentially reduce the stress and frustration that I was feeling. He then informed me of an update to my orders that really made me feel that my prayers for resolution had been answered.

While all of my interactions at St. Rose have been positive, it was the time that Daniel took and the concerns that he worked hard to address that will stay with me even after my stay here. He is truly an asset and made the difference between a decent experience and an actual change in my lifestyle. This is what will remain with me after my discharge back to day- to- day life.
