Our father is a veteran currently living at the Butler VA, CLC building. He is a Korean War Veteran who has been at this facility for one year. When we visit our Dad, he is always happy to see us but he's just as happy to see Dan and J when they come into his room. These 2 men have built a relationship with our Dad, which is no small task! The clinical care they give him is exemplary. They are in tune with all his needs, anticipating what he needs. They are compassionate to my Dad, who is 87 years old, and treat him with the utmost respect, even when our Dad is grumpy.

My Dad has a connection to these two which is comforting to us as we live almost one hour away. They have made a connection by sharing jokes that brighten our Dad's day. My Dad trusts Dan and J, that's an immeasurable gift to him and us. They respect our Dad and show him compassion. These two have integrity and courage in dealing with all the veterans. We have seen them interact with other veterans and they have the same friendly demeanor with them as our Dad. In a field dominated by women, Dan and J are even more special, they are standouts and are a tremendous asset to the Butler VA CLC. The smallest request by my Dad or us is immediately addressed. It's a trying time for our family and as we navigate this new dynamic, Dan and J have brought us solace. We know our Dad is receiving excellent care.
