My daughter suffers from several rare diseases so we have had to make numerous trips to the ED at the Community Campus. Most of these visits we have been provided with excellent care from all, but in particular from Dan Litherland, RN. Last week my daughter was rushed in via ambulance and was very ill. Dan saw her as they wheeled her in and knew immediately this was a serious situation. Although she was not assigned to him, he oversaw the Triage and constantly checked on us all night long. At 11:30 pm after working a 12 hr shift, Dan came and sat down next to her. He took her hand and kept talking to her and LISTENING to her fear all the while discreetly checking her vitals. He did not leave her side for 2 hours until I made him go home. No one has ever been as kind and compassionate as Dan was that night. He deserves the DAISY Award and as much recognition as we can give him.
