Daniel demonstrates the attributes of a DAISY nurse every shift he works. I'd love to give just one example, but have to admit that he gives 100% every shift, every patient, every time. He provides direction to staff, nurses and residents alike, that facilitates timely, top notch care in every trauma. He takes initiative in being an educator by seeking out and becoming a TNCC instructor. Daniel has positive working relationships with people in the OR, the ER, the SICU, and the BICU. He's not afraid to get dirty; he is equally motivated to clean a room and get ready for the next patient as he is to dive into an exciting trauma scenario. He's always prompting the physicians to order pain meds, make sure the antibiotics are ordered so we can give them in a timely manner on open fractures, proactively calling radiology so we get our patients scanned or x-rayed quickly, he follows up on results often informing the physician of an issue before he/she even knows there's a problem, etc.
His primary objective is always to take exceptional care of the patient and elevate the care his team provides. Daniel is definitely one of Parkland's very best!
