I want to show appreciation to the nurse, Daniel, who, quite honestly, changed my life in 2022. My brother got into a car accident that resulted in a stay in the ICU. I remember the call that we received and the pit that I felt in my stomach hearing that my brother, "my best friend", was in "critical condition". My family was worried and scared, but the nurse explained everything to us in a caring, empathetic, kind, and easy-to-follow manner. I have never and will never forget how he tried his best to ease our concerns and answer every question to the best of his ability. My brother fully recovered from his accident, despite vertebral fractures and surgery. He now goes on with everyday life, like he was never injured!

At the time that all of this was happening, I was struggling to find my path career-wise. Three changed majors with no real drive. My encounter with this nurse made me realize that nursing is my path, and I began nursing school. I work as a nurse extern on the same unit where Dan, the nurse, cared for my brother. I graduate in May 2025, and I don't doubt my path anymore! I cannot articulate my profound gratitude, but I know that Dan is an exceptional nurse who has a special place in my heart and my family.
