My stay at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial after my total knee replacement will always be a positive memory for me. The nursing staff and support were so caring and efficient. Everyone was amazing! The nurse that made the most difference in my stay was my night shift nurse, Dan. Every request I made was met cheerfully and I never was made to feel an inconvenience or "too needy". Dan answered any questions I had in a manner that really made it easily understandable. He was very prompt to answer my calls to the nurses' station, and always checked that I was comfortable before he left me. The most outstanding kindness Dan showed was when I asked for a fan. He searched everywhere and eventually was successful. Hallelujah! That air movement made a huge difference, Dan is my hero!
