June 2020 Honoree
daniel tennison, RN
While we were driving through Daniel's neighborhood, we came upon a person who had fallen and cut her knee open. She was bleeding profusely, had gravel in her knee and Daniel was tending to her. Despite Daniel expressing it may need stitches; she did not want to come to the hospital. Daniel offered her a ride to his house (just up the hill) and spent 45 minutes cleaning and dressing the wound. He explained to the neighbor what to watch for in terms of infection, and what type of bandages would work best to help her heal. He gave her his number if she had questions or concerns before driving her back to her house. She was very appreciative and reassured that he was a nurse at the hospital. Altogether, he spent over an hour helping a neighbor and representing Cox Health positively.
Thank you, Daniel, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
