Dan spent several hours with two patients of mine, one adult and one teenager, who were contemplating harming themselves because of their diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. Dan did not have to share his personal story of life with Type 1 Diabetes, but he did. His understanding and caring manner put these patients at ease. He was instrumental in finding a way to help them cope and they are both thriving today.
Dan has been a major influence in how diabetes care is provided within primary care. He serves as a role model for others. He is knowledgeable and seeks opportunities to improve processes. He goes over and above each and every day. Thank you Dan.
